Foot and Ankle Surgery Johns Hopkins at Good Samaritan Hospital
Our mission is to provide our patients with the highest level of orthopaedic foot and ankle care available. With a detailed history, physical, and appropriate imaging studies we work to establish a diagnosis and a custom plan of care.
In order to establish a diagnosis we often combine plane x-rays with other imaging studies. MRI, CT, Nuclear Medicine, and ultrasound are some of the available techniques we often use to find the source of a patients pain and deformity.
Whenever possible we advocate a conservative, non-operative approach to treatment of foot and ankle problems. We often combine orthotics/prosthetics with physical therapy to help our patients with their conditions. Office based diagnostic and therapeutic injections may be used for some of the conditions we treat.
If conservative treatment is not effective, a board certified, fellowship trained foot and ankle surgeon may make recommendations for surgical treatment. Advanced, state-of-the-art techniques and technology is available to improve surgical results, and speed recovery. Whatever surgery may be recommended, it will be tailored to a patient’s condition, age, and lifestyle.
