Meet Our Physician Assistants
All of the surgeons in our group work closely with a certified physician assistant (PA-C) partner. Our PAs have expertise in the evaluation and management of conditions treated by our group and, under the supervision of one of the surgical staff members, act as an indispensible component of our team.
Our physician assistants’ responsiblities include diagnosing and treating injuries, conducting physical examinations, assisting in surgery, writing prescriptions, as well as ordering and interpreting tests such as blood test, x-rays and MRIs.
At Johns Hopkins Orthopaedic and Spine Surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital, we are proud that all of our PAs are certified by the American Academy of Physician Assistants - analogous to board certification for our surgeons. To be certified a physician’s assistant must complete 100 hours of Continuing Education (CEU) courses every 2 years, and take a re-certification exam every 6 years.
